Welcome to the 2009 ECQTG

We are pleased to invite you to the 16th European Colloquium on Theoretical and Quantitative Geography (ECQTG09), which will take place in Maynooth (Ireland) from 4th - 8th September, 2009.

Maynooth is a pleasant market town located some 25km west of Dublin. It is the home to the National University of Ireland Maynooth. Participants in the Colloquium will stay at the Glenroyal Hotel, a 4* hotel about 10 minutes walk from the University campuses. Paper sessions will held in the John Hume Building on the North Campus. Lunch and evening meals will be held the magnificent surroundings of Pugin Hall on the South Campus. The Colloquium Dinner will be held at Barberstown Castle, a few miles south of Maynooth.

Previous colloquia have taken place in Strasbourg (1978), Cambridge (1980), Augsburg (1982), Veldhoven (1985), Bardonecchia (1987), Chantilly (1989), Stockholm (1991), Budapest (1993), Spa (1995), Rostock (1997),Durham (1999), St Valery-en-Caux (2001), Lucca (2003), Tomar (2005) and Montreux (2007).

The colloquium is organized by the National Centre for Geocomputation (NCG) at the National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM).
